About Us
Our Founder
Hello, I'm Krystal the founder of Melanin Youth Foundation. I started this organization after realizing that there is a vast number of children that don't have any basic life skills. As technology continues to grow, cultures and traditions seem to be continuously dying off. Children are not as social, not as physical, and because of that tend to lack some common sense’s. I come from humble beginnings and have always been an active member of any community from a young age. I remember what I learned from volunteering and participating in the programs of my local community center. Every since then, it was apparent to me the impact a community service program can have. Having my own Non-Profit Organization and giving back to my community has always been a goal of mine since then. To know that I made a difference in a child’s life means heaps to me, and gives purpose to my life. Our goal is to offer programs that are not always available through the schools or community centers, to teach skills that may not be getting taught in the homes, because of working/or single parents don't have the time. To provide our youth with a good solid foundation of fundamentals for life. The children really are our future, the more knowledge we pure into them the better.
Our mission
Our purpose as a non-profit organization is to provide the youth with essential civilization skills, also known as "Life Skills" that they may not learn from home or school due to unforeseen circumstances or situations. To be apart of the spark that will turn into a flame, helping them become the Supernova's of our future.
