All programs and materials are provided free of charge. Youth gain access to opportunities they may not otherwise receive at home or school. Each program runs once a week for 12 weeks (first come, first serve basis).
Self-care is tied to both health science and the art of self-awareness. Engaging in consistent routines improves mental health, reduces anxiety, and strengthens focus. Youth will explore wellness practices such as mindfulness, stress management, nutrition basics, and physical balance—linking biology and psychology (Science) with expressive, creative approaches to self-care (Arts).
Etiquette is the art of social interaction. Through role-play, communication exercises, and scenario-based learning, youth will practice skills in confidence, public speaking, and cultural understanding. These lessons merge psychology (Science) with performance and presentation (Arts), helping participants build the social intelligence needed for leadership and professionalism.
ESSENTIAL STEAM+ PROGRAMS
Youth gain hands-on experience with engineering concepts as they learn the mechanics of everyday problem-solving. Topics include:
This program bridges engineering fundamentals with practical technology skills for independence.
Rooted in health science and problem-solving, this program teaches essential survival techniques and medical basics. Youth will learn CPR, first aid, water and food safety, shelter-building, and emergency preparedness. These lessons highlight the science of the human body, the environment, and the engineering of survival strategies.
Resume design incorporates digital literacy (Technology) and personal presentation (Arts), while credit literacy emphasizes financial calculations and responsibility (Mathematics). Together, this program equips youth with the technical, creative, and numeric skills necessary to thrive in careers and independent adulthood.
Gardening combines biology (Science), resource measurement and planning (Mathematics), and creativity (Arts). Youth will explore plant life cycles, soil science, and sustainable food practices while also strengthening teamwork and community engagement.
Cooking is both chemistry (Science) and creative expression (Arts). Youth will measure, budget, and prepare meals (Mathematics) while exploring world cultures through food. The program emphasizes nutrition, health, and practical independence.
Sewing blends geometry and measurement (Mathematics), precision design and creativity (Arts), and mechanical use of tools/machines (Engineering). Youth develop patience, problem-solving, and confidence while producing finished projects they can take pride in.
