PROVIDE THE YOUTH WITH FREE SERVICES FOR THEY'RE FUTURE THAT THEY MAY NOT OTHERWISE RECEIVE FROM HOME OR SCHOOL. I.E.... LIFE SKILLS, RESUME BUILDING, LITERATURE AND PRODUCTS. Program schedules will vary, but will generally be once a week for 12 weeks, and are on a first come first serve basis.
SELF CARE Engaging in a self-care routine has been clinically proven to reduce or eliminate anxiety and depression, reduce stress, improve concentration, minimize frustration and anger, increase happiness, improve energy, and more. Self Care and Life Skills involve the most important occupations children learn as they grow. These skills are encompassed in the child's Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs).
Etiquette is a set of rules for personal behavior based on an ethical code that delineates expected and accepted social norms and conventions within a society, a social class, or a social group. It governs social interactions and behavior, and reflects cultural norms, ethical codes, and various social conventions. Following the rules of etiquette helps make a good first impression when meeting new people and helps develop better relationships. It shows respect to oneself and others
ESSENTIAL STEAM+ PROGRAMS
Whether your teen driver drives his or her own car or relies on a family vehicle, it’s important to give your new driver the information necessary to keep that vehicle well maintained. This program provides theses basics:
Check Tire Pressure and Inflate Tires, Deal With a Blowout and Change a Tire, Know When the Car Needs an Oil Change, Jump Start a Dead Battery, Replace Windshield Wipers, Respond to a Check Engine Light, and Scheduling routine maintenance.
They are meant to provide basic necessities for the sustenance of human life, such as water, food, shelter, and so on. Apart from raising our children on the values of right and wrong, we also need to consider incorporating basic survival skills in their upbringing.
Teaching resume building and credit literacy to youth is an investment in their financial future and overall well-being. Learning to cook will help the youth understand world cultures, customs and flavors. You will also learn life skills like eating healthy, budgeting your money, and cleaning. Save some cash. Cooking is less expensive than eating at restaurants, fast food joints and school cafeterias.
Sewing is an important Life Skill and is the vehicle to teach self-confidence through skill-building. Sewing helps you develop fine motor skills, improves your focus and concentration and teaches the importance of patience and self-control.
Self-defense training not only helps you protect yourself but others too. Plus, training helps you become physically and emotionally fit. Having the ability to defend yourself increases your self-esteem and boosts your confidence.
