Back to School Backpack Giveaway is a community supported program  organized by the the Melanin Youth Foundation to help children from low income families have a successful start to school. The program provides FREE backpacks full of school supplies to at-risk children in the city of Perris Ca. Locations will vary each year.

Every Year the Melanin Youth Foundation host a Family Fun Festival. A Free to the public event featuring, family involved activities, such as 3-legged races and ect.  Free food, games, and entertainment. 

Having fun as a family is an important part of building a strong family identity. When families have fun together, they build bonds that can last a lifetime. Children do look to their parents for example, and parents who make the effort to have fun, are planting a very valuable seed. Locations 

   Every Year the Melanin Youth Foundation host a Back to School Fashion Show, show casing local designers, and using local models. This is a Fund Raising Event, and a small monetary fee, all proceed's go back into the Melanin Youth Foundation to help continuously fund the programs we offer free of charge to the youth.

Every Year the Melanin Youth Foundation will host a Lil Miss Melanin Pageant. To encourage self-confidence within the young ladies in our community, and reward them for their efforts in becoming civilized and productive citizens in our community. We would like to inspire young girls to be comfortable in the skin that they are in, no matter their color, shape or size. Provide them with the tools, and instructions for continuing to remain beautiful from the inside out.  

Every Year the Melanin Youth Foundation will host a Youth Cooking Competition. Through a cooking competition, students gain wide visibility into the labor market. At the same time, we encourage students to learn from others and compete on their own skills and expertise. Moreover, the competition itself mixed with teamwork makes a great learning environment.

Every Year the Melanin Youth Foundation will host a Youth Health Fair/Clinic to provide free, high quality, empowering health care to the youth who not qualify for and/or cannot afford any form of health insurance.Without clinics, the uninsured population will woulhave access to the same standard of medical care and preventive services provided to the insured population and may likely experience a delay in disease diagnosis.  Local pediatricians, dentist, optometrist, & mental health specialist.

Every Year the Melanin Youth Foundation will host a Volunteer Appreciation Retreat. Volunteers often help keep the doors open and enable nonprofits to deliver vital programs and services. They lend their expertise on the board of directors, to fundraising campaigns and special events, and often work in direct customer service roles.

The Melanin Youth Foundation's annual Women's Empowerment Luncheon offers a safe and celebratory space for women of color and their daughters. It honors their cultural heritage and talents with workshops, keynote addresses, entertainment, and networking. Vendor participation supports economic independence and strengthens maternal and adolescent bonds. The event's overarching aim is to empower women of color to reach their full potential despite adversity.
